General Eye Care FAQs

Where are your offices located?

Bronxville Vision Care Inc has two offices in Westchester County: 10 Park Place in Bronxville, NY 10708, and 145 E Post Rd in White Plains, NY 10601.

How do I schedule an eye exam?

You can request an appointment online or call our Bronxville office at (914) 337-4440 or our White Plains office at (914) 949-8900.

How often should I have a comprehensive eye exam?

Most adults benefit from a comprehensive eye exam every one to two years. People with diabetes, glaucoma risk factors, or a family history of eye disease often need yearly exams.

At what age should children have their first eye exam?

Children should have an eye exam around six months of age, again at about age three, and before starting school. After that, yearly exams help catch vision problems that can affect learning and sports.

What is the difference between a vision screening and a comprehensive eye exam?

A vision screening only checks how clearly you see. A comprehensive eye exam evaluates eye health, focusing, eye teamwork, and early signs of conditions like glaucoma, cataracts, and macular degeneration.

Do you use digital retinal imaging?

Yes. We use Optos Digital Retinal Imaging, which gives our optometrists a detailed view of the retina and helps detect signs of eye disease earlier.

Will my eyes be dilated during my exam?

Dilation may be recommended depending on your exam. It can make your eyes sensitive to light for a few hours, so bringing sunglasses is a good idea.

Do you fit contact lenses?

Yes. We fit soft, toric, multifocal, and rigid gas-permeable contact lenses, along with hard-to-fit contact lenses for astigmatism, dry eye, and keratoconus.

Can I get contact lenses the same day?

In many cases, yes. Our same-day contact lenses service lets many patients get fitted and pick up lenses from our in-stock inventory during the same visit.

Do you carry designer frames and sunglasses?

Yes. We offer a wide selection of designer frames and prescription and non-prescription sunglasses, plus expert frame and lens consultations.

Do you have an on-site lab?

Yes. Our on-site laboratory helps us deliver eyewear efficiently and maintain quality control. We also provide frame adjustments and repairs.

Do you treat dry eye?

Yes. Our dry eye treatment options include artificial tears, punctal plugs, prescription medications, and nutrition guidance.

Do you provide diabetic eye exams?

Yes. Our diabetic eye care includes dilated exams and retinal imaging to monitor for diabetic retinopathy and other diabetes-related eye problems.

What should I do if I have an eye emergency?

Call our office right away. Our emergency eye care covers eye injuries, foreign objects, chemical exposure, sudden vision changes, and painful red eyes. For severe trauma, go to the nearest emergency room.

Do you accept vision insurance?

We accept most vision and medical insurance plans. Visit our payment options page or call us to confirm your coverage.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept most insurance plans, cash, and most major credit cards. Our team will review your costs with you before services are provided.

Can I fill out new patient forms before my visit?

Yes. You can complete your paperwork ahead of time through our online forms to save time at check-in.

What should I bring to my first appointment?

Bring your current glasses or contact lenses, your insurance card, a photo ID, and a list of medications. Our new patients page has more details.

Do you offer specials on eye exams and eyewear?

We periodically run promotions on eye exams, eyeglasses, and contact lenses. Check our specials page for current offers.
