When you are new to our office, we put in the effort to provide you with a positive and comforting experience. Once you have been with us for a while, you can continue to expect the highest level of service. We focus on quality optical care, excellent customer service, and a relaxing environment, and we consider your first visit the start of a long-term relationship.
Before Your Visit
To save time at check-in, complete your paperwork ahead of time using our online forms. Please bring:
- Your current eyeglasses and contact lenses, plus any contact lens boxes or prescriptions
- Your vision and medical insurance cards and a photo ID
- A list of current medications and any health conditions, such as diabetes or high blood pressure
- Sunglasses, in case your eyes are dilated

Your First Comprehensive Eye Exam
Your first visit usually includes a comprehensive eye exam. We review your health and vision history, discuss any symptoms, and test visual acuity, color vision, depth perception, eye muscle movements, and eye pressure. We may also use Optos Digital Retinal Imaging to check for early signs of glaucoma, cataracts, and macular degeneration.
Eyewear and Contact Lenses
If you need glasses, our opticians will help you choose from our selection of designer frames and sunglasses. If you are interested in contact lenses, let us know when you book so we can include a fitting. Many patients qualify for same-day contact lenses, and we specialize in hard-to-fit contact lenses.

How long does a first visit take?
Plan for about an hour. Visits that include dilation, retinal imaging, or a contact lens fitting may take a little longer.
Will my eyes be dilated?
Dilation may be recommended depending on your exam. Bring sunglasses, since your eyes may be sensitive to light for a few hours.
